Job summary

The Resource Room Teacher at Methuen Public Schools’ Comprehensive Grammar School in Methuen, MA, will support students identified with special needs, develop individualized education plans, and implement services under the evaluation team’s guidance.

The role requires Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Disabilities PK-8 with SEI Endorsement, ASD experience, collaboration with staff, and engagement in parent conferences, reports, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts Teaching license in Moderate Disabilities PK-8 with SEI Endorsement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education; master’s degree preferred.
• ASD experience and ability to work with students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements individualized education plans for students approved to receive special needs services.
• Provides diagnostic testing of students referred and submits required reports and time logs.
• Participates in all special education staff meetings, in-service training and school programs.
• Maintains confidential student records and carries out annual re-evaluations and parent conferences.
