Methuen Public Schools in Massachusetts seeks a Resource Room Teacher for the Upper School to collaborate with evaluation teams, develop and implement individualized education plans, and provide diagnostic testing and progress reports.
The role requires planning, data-driven instruction, and strong collaboration with parents and staff to support students with diverse needs in an inclusive setting.
This position is contingent upon sufficient funding and enrollment
The successful candidate will be expected to work with students identified by the evaluation team as having special needs; develop, in coordination with the evaluation team individualized education plans for students approved to receive special needs resource services and implement these plans; provide diagnostic testing of students referred; submit written forms, time logs, data of students and reports required by the building chairperson and/or the in-service coordinator; participate in all special education staff meetings and in-service training and school programs; complete semi-annual reports on each student and hold a minimum of three parent conferences; provide annual re-evaluation of students currently placed in the program; submit purchase orders for supplies and materials required in the program; complete a yearly inventory of supplies and materials; and participate in all regular school functions at the direction of the building principal.
Methuen Public Schools enrolls approximately 7000 in a total of five schools. Methuen Public Schools has four PK-8 schools: the Comprehensive Grammar School, the Marsh Grammar School, the Tenney Grammar School, the Timony Grammar School, and one comprehensive high school: Methuen High School. At least a Bachelor’s Degree in the area of major study. Master’s degree preferred. Bilingual preferred - Primary languages spoken in the community are: English, Spanish, Arabic, and French.
