Job summary

Methuen Public Schools seeks a Resource Room Teacher with ASD experience to support students identified with special needs. The role involves developing individualized education plans with the evaluation team, providing diagnostic testing, and maintaining timely records and reports.

Responsibilities include participating in meetings and trainings, submitting semi-annual progress reports, and ensuring equity and inclusion in instruction while coordinating with the building principal and school

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts Teaching license in Moderate Disabilities PK-8 with SEI Endorsement.
• Bilingual preferred - English, Spanish, Arabic, and French.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Create a safe and conducive classroom environment.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives.
• Employ evidence-based instructional methods (UDL).
• Work with students identified as having special needs.
• Develop and implement individual education plans with evaluation team.
• Provide diagnostic testing and submit required reports and forms.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development.
