Job summary

Onward Education seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Resource) for an in-person role in Talbot County, Maryland, supporting students in a Resource Room setting with an approximate 15-student caseload for the 2026-2027 school year.

Start ASAP; End date 06/08/2027. Bachelor’s degree required and Maryland teaching license or eligibility. Collaboration with general education staff and strong communication are essential for student progress.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document student progress; adjust strategies as needed.
• Manage classroom behavior and support social skill development.
• Communicate regularly with families and support staff about progress.

Position Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: 06/08/2027
• Location: Talbot County, Maryland On-Site, 37.5 hours per week
• School Year: 2026-2027
• Setting: Resource Room / Pull-out support (approx. 15-student caseload)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must hold or be eligible for a Maryland teaching license (additional certification requirements may apply per MSDE / local BOE).
• Experience working within inclusive or specialized classroom settings.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers and support staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
