Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Must meet one or more: Associates degree or 72 college credits or passing ETS paraeducator assessment.

Responsibilities

• Use trauma-informed strategies to build safe, supportive relationships and maintain routines.
• Collect and document data on academic progress, behavior, and IEP goals with timely communication.
• Follow behavior intervention plans and CPI strategies to de-escalate behaviors.
• Assist in delivering teacher-directed instruction and reinforce learning in various areas.
• Administer first aid for emergencies.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction.
• Assist with classroom management and preparing lesson materials.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, and transitions.
• Report misconduct and assist with safety procedures.
• Attend required paraeducator training hours.
