Job summary

Pasco School District No. 1 is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator for the Resource Room at McClintock Elementary in Pasco, WA. The role supports students with special needs through targeted instruction and data tracking.

Hours are 3.00 per day, Monday through Friday, on a 180-day calendar. Salary ranges from $22.03 to $24.83 per hour, with degree-based supplements available for new hires. Fingerprint screening is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Associates degree (AAS, AA) or higher; 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits; or passing score on the ETS paraeducator assessment.

Responsibilities

• Use trauma-informed strategies to build safe, supportive relationships, maintain routines, and respond to student needs with empathy and emotional regulation support.
• Accurately collect and document data related to academic progress, behavior, and IEP goals, ensuring timely communication with the supervising teacher.
• Follow behavior intervention plans and apply CPI-approved strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviors and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Assist in delivering teacher-directed instruction and reinforcement in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional areas, in individual or small group formats.
• Administer first aid to provide emergency care.
• Provide one-on-one or group instruction and assist with classroom management.
