Job summary

Pasco School District No. 1 is hiring a Bilingual Instructional Paraeducator for the Resource Room at Ochoa Middle School in Pasco, Washington. The role supports students with IEP goals, behavior plans, and academic interventions within a 180-day calendar and 6.25-hour days.

Starting date is To Be Determined with an open deadline until filled. Salary ranges from $22.03 to $24.83 per hour, with extra pay for° additional duties per the union contract.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish), required.
• Associates degree (AAS, AA) or higher; 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits in college level 100+; or passing score on ETS paraeducator assessment.

Responsibilities

• Use trauma-informed strategies to build safe, supportive relationships and respond with empathy.
• Collect and document data on academic progress, behavior, and IEP goals with timely communication to the supervising teacher.
• Follow behavior intervention plans and de-escalate challenging behaviors to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Assist in delivering instruction and reinforcement in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional areas in individual and small group formats.
• Administer first aid to provide emergency care.
• Provide one-on-one or group instruction as needed.
• Assist with classroom management and with preparing materials for lessons.
• Supervise students during arrival/departure, recess, meals, and transitions.
