CommonSpirit Health’s Saint Joseph London hospital seeks an experienced Resource RN. You will deliver diverse professional nursing services, develop, implement, and assess patient care plans, and directly engage in patient care daily.

You will educate patients, families, and staff while applying critical thinking to coordinate care and delegate tasks in collaboration with the care team. You will manage perioperative nursing responsibilities and ensure adherence to standards, with accountability

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years minimum one year of RN experience in an acute care facility at hire.
  • RN license in KY required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) required at hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course within 12 months.
  • ADN hires must obtain BSN within five years and begin BSN within two years.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct care assessments and interpret data to determine care needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of observations, treatments, medications, and patient responses.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to plan, direct, and administer care.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff to support optimal outcomes.
  • Delegate and supervise routine technical functions to non-licensed staff.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Resource RN, you will provide diverse professional nursing services, delivering quality patient care, regulatory requirements, and nursing scope of practice. You are responsible for collaboratively developing, implementing, and assessing patient care plans.


Every day you will directly engage in patient care, utilizing critical thinking to assess, plan, coordinate, and delegate tasks to the patient care team. You will continuously educate patients, families, and staff, implementing interventions for optimal outcomes and managing issues in a physician's absence.


To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate accountability for care quality, with authority to direct care and utilize resources efficiently, including comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.



  • Conducts care assessments and interprets assessment data to determine care needs and constraints in meeting these needs.

  • Successfully completes system-based and hospital specific competencies.

  • Maintains accurate documentation of observations, treatments, teaching, medications, care given, patient response, and integrates into plan of care.

  • In collaboration with patients and families (as defined by the patient) the Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing and administering care to the patient. Implements a plan of care based upon established standards of care/practice, policies, and procedures, incorporating cultural, religious, psychosocial, physical, and age-related issues.

  • Possesses knowledge of medications, and administers safely and accurately.

  • Appropriately delegates and supervises routine technical functions to non-licensed and licensed personnel.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days and

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months and

  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months and

  • BSN Requirement: Effective 04/01/2026, all ADN prepared RN hires are required to obtain their BSN degree within five (5) years of their start date. Individuals must enroll in and begin participating in a BSN program within two (2) years of their start date.
