Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - East Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a Resource RN to provide diverse professional nursing services, develop and assess patient care plans, and coordinate care with the patient care team.

You will engage in direct patient care daily, applying critical thinking to plan, delegate tasks, and educate patients and families while ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining nursing scope of practice in acute care.

Qualifications

• Diploma Of Nursing graduation from an accredited/approved school and 1–3 years minimum RN experience in acute care facility
• Registered Nurse: KY license upon hire
• Basic Life Support (CPR) upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days
• Trauma Nurse Core Course within 12 months
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Conducts care assessments and interprets assessment data to determine care needs and constraints in meeting these needs.
• Successfully completes system-based and hospital specific competencies.
• Maintains accurate documentation of observations, treatments, teaching, medications, care given, patient response, and integrates into plan of care.
• In collaboration with patients and families the Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing and administering care to the patient; implements a plan of care based on standards, policies and procedures, incorporating cultural/religious/psychosocial/physical/age-related issues.
• Possesses knowledge of medications and administers safely and accurately.
• Appropriately delegates and supervises routine technical functions to non-licensed and licensed personnel.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Resource RN, you will provide diverse professional nursing services, delivering quality patient care, regulatory requirements, and nursing scope of practice. You are responsible for collaboratively developing, implementing, and assessing patient care plans.

Every day you will directly engage in patient care, utilizing critical thinking to assess, plan, coordinate, and delegate tasks to the patient care team. You will continuously educate patients, families, and staff, implementing interventions for optimal outcomes and managing issues in a physician's absence.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate accountability for care quality, with authority to direct care and utilize resources efficiently, including comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
