Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an entry-level Resource Planning Analyst in Colorado to study the electric system, assess generation technologies, and assist in developing an affordable, reliable resource plan for our customers. You will gain exposure to regulatory filings, modeling, and cross-functional teams in a regulated utility environment.

The internship runs for a May 31, 2027 start, with potential extension based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Business
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commute to the designated work location per hybrid policy

Responsibilities

• Supporting regulatory filings
• Supporting energy systems modeling
• Development of resource plans and large scale power plant (generation) RFPs
• Other ad hoc projects and assignments
