Job summary

Xcel Energy in Denver, CO offers an internship in Resource Planning. You will study the PSCo electric system, explore Colorado's generation technologies, and help develop an electric resource plan prioritizing safety, reliability and affordability for customers.

Gain exposure to multiple departments including planning, operations, legal, and regulatory while learning how generation resources are modeled and evaluated for selection.

Qualifications

• Current student, junior or higher
• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Business
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week) and commute to the designated work location in-person, per hybrid policy

Responsibilities

• Supporting regulatory filings
• Supporting energy systems modeling
• Development of resource plans and large-scale power plant (generation) RFPs
• Other ad hoc projects and assignments
