Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc is seeking an intern to gain exposure to generation system modeling with a focus on capacity expansion and production costing within the Energy Supply & Market Modeling Team. You will shadow analysts, attend team meetings, and help prepare data for modeling tasks in a collaborative environment.

This internship starts May 31, 2027 and may extend based on performance and business needs. The role requires in-person commuting to the designated location under our hybrid policy.

Qualifications

• Current student,Junior or higher.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Operations Research.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week) and commute to the designated work location in-person per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Shadow analysts to understand basic job function skills.
• Attend meetings to understand team objectives and current scope of work.
• Prepare data for model input.
• Load data into model.
• Perform basic scenario analysis.
