Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System in Dunn, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse on the Fourth Floor Med/Surg to deliver quality patient care. Expect 12-hour day shifts, weekends and holidays, with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio and active collaboration with physicians.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, NC RN licensure, and clinical leadership skills; a BSN is preferred. Relocation assistance is available and EPIC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Current NC RN license is required.
• Clinical Ladder packet and approval for advancement required.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily patient assignments.
• Rounds with physicians.
• Acts as point of contact for physicians and administrators.
• Serves as resource to staff nurses, assistants, monitors techs and unit secretaries.
• Assists with procedures and checks orders.
• Responsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unit.
• Evaluates daily patient acuity.
• May assist with staff scheduling development.
• Supports clinical education in absence of educator/preceptor.
• Rounds on patients and families regularly.
• Interfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planning.
• Interfaces with Patient Placement and nursing supervisors.
• Takes patient assignments when staffing options are exhausted.
• Implements HIP-defined processes and supports Press Gainey/HCAAPS.
