Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing is required; BSN is preferred.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina required.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; strong verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily patient assignments.
• Rounds with physicians.
• Acts as point of contact for physicians and administrators.
• Serves as resource to staff nurses, nursing assistants, monitors techs and unit secretaries.
• Assists with procedures, checks orders.
• Responsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unit.
• Evaluates daily patient acuity.
• Assists with staff scheduling during duties absence.
• Assists with clinical education of staff in absence of educator/preceptor.
• Rounds on patients and families at regular intervals.
• Interfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planning.
• Interfaces with Patient Placement and nursing supervisors.
• Takes patient assignments when other staffing options exhausted.
• Implements HIP-defined processes.
• Facilitates and monitors staff performance relative to HIP.
• Carries cell phone for timely communication.
• Other duties as assigned.
