Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System seeks a registered nurse for the Betsy Johnson Hospital (Dunn, NC) to support 12-hour shifts on the Med/Surg unit. You will rounds with physicians, serve as a primary contact for clinicians and administrators, and help ensure safe, quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient services.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate's in Nursing and NC RN licensure; a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina required.
• Clinical Ladder packet and advancement approval required.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily patient assignments.
• Rounds with physicians.
• Serve as liaison for physicians and administrators.
• Resource to staff nurses and aides.
• Assist with procedures and checks orders.
• Perform daily QC and equipment checks on unit.
• Evaluate daily patient acuity.
• Assist in evaluating staff performance.
• May assist with monthly staff scheduling.
• Assist with clinical education in absence of educator.
• Rounds on patients and families.
• Interface with Care Coordinator and discharge planning.
• Interface with nursing supervisors and Patient Placement.
• Take patient assignments when staffing options are exhausted.
• Implement HIP-defined processes.
• Monitor staff performance relative to Press Gainey/HCAAPS.
• Carry cell phone for timely communication.
• Other duties as assigned.
