Job summary

Kids for the Future in Los Angeles seeks a Resource Navigator Lead to provide administrative and programmatic support to the disaster case management program, the Hub in Altadena, and the Center for Community.

The role involves building partnerships, coordinating resource navigation for survivors, and guiding AmeriCorps fellows. Travel across Los Angeles County is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred with two years in related work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Social Work, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in program coordination, disaster recovery, or community outreach.
  • Knowledge of FEMA Individual Assistance Programs and disaster case management.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes regular communication and cross-collaboration with program management staff to ensure alignment and coordinated program delivery.
  • Develop strategies for meaningful resource navigation and distribution to vulnerable populations.
  • Help plan canvassing efforts and create a list of potential locations and events to share resources and provide support.
  • Support the organization and implementation of disaster recovery events, especially for marginalized groups in need of recovery assistance.
  • Assist with training and oversight of up to 5 AmeriCorps fellows.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and deliverable tracking.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TheResource NavigatorLeadwill provide administrative and programmatic support to the disaster case management program, the Hub in Altadena and the Center for Community. TheResource Navigator Leadrole willassistinestablishingcommunity partnerships andfinding resources for those affected by the2025Los AngelesWildfires. This role willassistat the Hub in Altadena, the Center for Community, and occasionally,the Palisades Hub.The ResourceNavigatorLeadwillhelp direct survivors toappropriate recoveryresources. The ideal candidate will havestrong communicationskills, a background in disaster response working directly with trauma-affectedcommunities,anddemonstratea deep commitment to serving vulnerable populations witha strong senseof urgency.

Main Responsibilities

Travel
  • Travel required throughout Los Angeles County, including the Palisades and Eaton Fire areas, CORE HQ, the Hub in Altadena, and the Center for Community
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Social Work, Community Outreach, Public Administration, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience. Masters preferred.
  • Knowledge of FEMA Individual Assistance Programs, Disaster Case ManagementPrograms,and experiencecommensuratewith the position
Experience
  • Minimum 2years of relevant experience in program coordination, disaster recovery, or community outreach
  • Familiarity with community resources for disaster-affected populations and local knowledge of Los Angeles
