Resource Geologist: Model & Grade Control Lead

Job summary

P&C Recruiting and HR partners with a mining client in Utah to hire a Resource Geologist responsible for developing and optimizing the resource model for both resource and reserve work. You will integrate drill data, NI 43-101 guidance, ore domains, and structural information to drive Grade Control decisions.

The role requires advanced geostatistical analysis, data QA/QC, and hands-on use of Surpac, Micromine, and Leapfrog.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, Geological Engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of experience as a geologist.
• Minimum of 5 years in resource modelling, with complex ore bodies.
• Proven interpretation skills and Kriging/estimation optimization experience.
• Drill and blast exposure and mining planning familiarity.
• Extensive Mine/Exploration geology experience with resource and grade control.
• Experience with Surpac, Micromine and Leapfrog.
• Knowledge of QA/QC, data management, and sampling practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop resource and reserve models from historical and current drilling data.
• Maintain model reconciliation and QA/QC data quality.
• Digitize and review wireframes, domains, and ore solids.
• Run variogram and geostatistical analyses for model validation.
• Lead drilling programs and coordinate with contractors and regulators.
• Prepare technical reports and support NI 43-101 disclosures.
