Tamarack Resort is seeking a Prep Cook to perform food preparation, cooking, and cleaning tasks to keep the kitchen efficient for producing and delivering dishes. The role supports quality service for menu items and specials, following plating guide specifications.

The position requires at least 6 months of cooking experience, English literacy, precise knife skills, and the ability to read and follow recipes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of cooking experience.
• Must have certification to handle food.
• Excellent customer service focus and communication skills.
• Must read, speak and write in English.
• Precise knife skills including some butchering with fish and steaks.
• Ability to measure temperatures for meat, fish and steaks and ensure properly cooked products.
• Familiar with prep kitchen and reading/following recipes, including baked items.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• US citizenship or valid work permit.

Responsabilités

• Complete all tasks on the prep list from the Chef or kitchen manager.
• Label and stock ingredients on accessible shelves.
• Wash, chop and sort fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Measure quantities of seasonings and cooking ingredients.
• Parboil food, reduce sauces, start first steps in dishes.
• Clean kitchen areas, wash utensils and sanitize surfaces.
• Follow nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards.
• Track ingredient inventory and assist with ordering.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests, employees and partners.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free facility and enforce resort rules.
• Adhere to health food handling regulations.
