Job summary

Pet Paradise is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Houston Hobby resort to oversee daily operations and staff while supporting the Resort Manager on a variety of management needs.

You will recruit, train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver premier service to pets and their parents in a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment. The role requires flexibility for weekends, holidays, and 3–4 weekend days per month onsite.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and build relationships with customers.
• Detail-oriented with results focus; goals must be met or exceeded.
• Ability to train staff and develop talent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily resort operations and staff; support Resort Manager.
• Create and post staff schedules; review timecards; control labor hours.
• Recruitment coordination with HR; interview and onboard new staff.
• Coach and develop team; identify high performers for growth.
• Deliver premier service to guests; maintain safe, clean, and fun atmosphere.
• Foster open communication with teams and corporate offices.
• Document corrective actions; manage terminations when necessary.
• Maintain inventory, conduct walk-throughs, manage lodging calendars; lead MOD duties.
• Maintain customer service metrics (NPS, reviews) and respond to guest concerns.
• Develop methods to increase sales, promote new business, and attract guests.
• Perform opening/closing duties and other resort tasks.
• Maintain 5-day workweeks onsite; 3–4 weekend days per month and holidays.
• Comfortable in front and back of house roles; lift up to 60 lbs; valid driver’s license.
