Job summary

Sun Outdoors in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Resort Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our resort properties. You will repair rental units, service grounds, and help ensure guest and resident comfort and safety.

The role requires outdoor work in variable conditions, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and solid knowledge of tools and basic plumbing, cleaning, and grounds maintenance. On-call availability and a team-oriented approach are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months in campground or RV resort maintenance preferred.
• General maintenance techniques and repair knowledge.
• Able to endure seasonal outdoor work conditions.
• General janitorial, plumbing, and grounds maintenance knowledge.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Ability to provide legible written reports.
• Work well independently and in a team.
• Must lift at least 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills (email/internet).
• On-call availability for resort needs.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash and perform maintenance using hand tools and power equipment.
• Complete minor repairs to rental units and facilities.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs (plumbing, sewage, street repair).
• Inspect irrigation systems and repair as needed.
• Inspect playgrounds, pools, and recreational areas for safety and repairs.
• Maintain resort curb appeal and cleanliness across property grounds.
• Conduct lawn care tasks including mulching, trimming, and weed control.
• Ensure daily trash removal in common areas and streets.
• Clean resort amenities (clubhouses, restrooms, laundry, maintenance garage).
• Maintain vacant sites and prepare them for occupancy or sale.
• Assist with snow removal where applicable (truck plow, salt, etc.).
• Inspect RVs/park models prior to sale for cleanliness and condition.
• Complete site condition checklists before/after guest occupancy.
• Assist Resort Manager with supervision of service contractors.
• Report maintenance issues to management promptly.
• Ensure resort streets/public routes are hazard-free.
• Maintain resort pools and equipment; monitor chemical levels.
• Operate resort vehicles and equipment safely.
• Follow safety procedures during duties.
• Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.
