Job summary

Sun Communities, Inc. is seeking a Resort Maintenance Technician at Rainbow Village-Largo, FL. The role performs routine and preventative maintenance to preserve resort facilities and grounds, handles repairs, and supports guest and resident needs.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be capable of outdoor work in all seasons; experience in campground maintenance is preferred. On-call duties may apply, with a strong focus on safety and service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months maintenance experience in campground/RV resort preferred.
• Broad knowledge of general maintenance techniques and repair work.
• Ability to endure seasonal outdoor work conditions.
• General knowledge of janitorial, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
• Ability to provide legible written reports.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills (email and internet).
• On-call availability for resort needs outside business hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to rental units and facilities.
• Inspect and maintain irrigation, playgrounds, pools/spas, and other recreational amenities.
• Maintain resort grounds, cleanliness, and curb appeal to Sun Outdoors standards.
• Assist with site setups for guest arrivals and departures.
• Follow safety procedures while operating vehicles and equipment.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager and coordinate with contractors as needed.
