Job summary

Star Island Management in Kissimmee, FL is seeking an Engineer Manager to supervise day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department in a resort setting. This hands-on leadership role combines supervision with active involvement in maintenance, safety, and guest comfort.

You will schedule and train staff, ensure compliance with laws, manage bids and contracts, and implement preventative maintenance programs across buildings and grounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher or equivalent experience.
• Service oriented style with professional presentation and communication skills.
• Experience managing/leading a crew of 10+ employees.
• Some basic computer knowledge, Microsoft Excel, etc.
• Valid driver license, certifications and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department and ensure safety and guest comfort.
• Directs engineering/maintenance operations to comply with company standards and regulations.
• Schedule, hire, train, evaluate, and improve employee performance.
• Ensure the resort complies with local, state and federal laws.
• Develop and implement plans to maintain properties and equipment in good repair.
• Create and implement preventive maintenance programs for all units and areas.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and guests in a service-oriented manner.
• Inform management of hazards, emergencies, or threats to assets.
• Plan and organize work, set goals, and schedule staff coverage.
• Conduct inspections, identify repair needs, and coordinate bids/contracts with vendors.
