Job summary

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, FL seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering and maintenance teams across a diverse, multi-building resort. You will develop preventive maintenance programs, manage capital projects and operating budgets, and ensure safety and compliance across facilities.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of progressive engineering leadership in large resort environments, with strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• Minimum of five to seven years of progressive engineering or facilities management experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Experience overseeing engineering and maintenance operations for a large resort or multi-building operation.
• Experience managing operating budgets, capital expenditures, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and life-safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day engineering, maintenance, and repair operations across resort facilities.
• Establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs for critical systems.
• Ensure facilities meet safety, cleanliness, functionality, and guest service standards.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop supervisors, technicians, and other engineering personnel.
• Develop and manage capital improvement plans and asset replacement schedules.
• Prepare and manage the engineering department’s operating and capital budgets.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, life-safety, and environmental regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term asset value.
