Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation in Brecksville, OH is seeking a Resin Engineer to provide technical and engineering support for PVC/CPVC resin technology development, raw material qualification, chlorination process optimization, and manufacturing support activities.

You will apply chemical engineering principles and data analysis to advance key business priorities, support plant readiness, and drive continuous improvement across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of chemical, polymer, materials, process engineering, or manufacturing support experience.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation capabilities.
• Ability to translate laboratory data into practical recommendations for process, plant, or manufacturing needs.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support PVC/CPVC resin qualification and raw material evaluation activities to improve supply flexibility, product robustness, and business continuity.
• Provide engineering support for PVC/CPVC resin technology development, chlorination process improvement, and manufacturing support projects.
• Lead development, validation, and implementation of PVC/CPVC resin testing capabilities and related technical methods.
• Analyze experimental, chlorination process, and plant data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and recommend technical actions.
• Drive data cleanup, data linkage, and data structuring for historical and ongoing R&D datasets related to CPVC resin, compounds, formulations, processing conditions, test results, and performance outcomes.
• Drive PVC/CPVC resin property modeling to better understand structure-property-performance relationships and guide PVC/CPVC resin development, qualification, and performance improvement decisions.
• Translate lab-scale findings into practical recommendations for plant support, chlorination process improvement, and technology implementation.
• Maintain and build technical domain knowledge related to PVC/CPVC resin systems, raw material qualification, chlorination process technology, and manufacturing support.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across R&D, manufacturing, quality, applications, and global technical teams to ensure timely execution of business-critical project work.
• Document technical findings, summarize recommendations, and communicate results clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
