Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Resiliency Lead to grow and deliver climate adaptation, flood risk reduction, stormwater management, and green infrastructure across NY/NJ.

You will lead a coordinated resiliency strategy, serving public agencies, utilities, and infrastructure owners, while mentoring staff and expanding HDR’s national expertise. You will work with the Water Business Group and leadership to translate market insight into pursued opportunities, with potential responsibilities in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a professional, architecture, engineering or closely related field.
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred for senior resiliency roles.
• 10+ years of experience in resiliency, climate adaptation, water resources, or related fields.
• Strong leadership, client management, and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction in climate risk, adaptation, flood risk, and coastal resilience.
• Mentor project managers and staff; support career development and growth of resiliency capabilities.
• Coordinate with regional and national leaders to share best practices and resources.
• Support recruiting and retention to expand the resiliency practice.
• Foster an employee-owned culture and collaborative work environment.
• Develop client relationships and manage selected resiliency accounts.
• Lead or support pursuits, proposals, and client negotiations for strategic programs.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk on assigned projects.
