Youth Opportunity in West Central Ohio Academy, Troy, OH, seeks a Shift Supervisor to oversee residential youth services and direct-care staff on a full-time shift. The role ensures safe, compliant operations, staff coverage, and youth supervision in alignment with program requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances or substance use concerns in a residential setting.
• Knowledge of chemical dependency, substance use, and effects of abuse.
• Possession of or ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to supervise staff and interact appropriately with youth.
• Strong communication skills and sensitivity to ethics, gender, cultural diversity, and disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and coordinate facility operations during assigned shifts.
• Make staff assignments and assist with schedules.
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching.
• Coordinate youth appointments, transportation, intake, and discharge activities.
• Monitor youth activities, visitation, facility safety checks, and required searches.
• Ensure staff follow company policies and applicable program requirements.
• Review grievances, complaints, and incident reports.
• Review and report incidents involving physical interventions or restraint.
• Oversee medication-related responsibilities and documentation as authorized by program procedures.
• Inspect living areas and maintain accurate records and shift reports.
• Assist with staff training and development.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate staff and youth during fire or severe weather.
