Job summary

Youth Opportunity & West Central Ohio Academy in Troy, Ohio is seeking a Mental Health Technician to provide daily supervision and behavioral support for youth in a structured residential setting. The role collaborates with clinical and educational staff to uphold treatment goals and safety.

The position focuses on implementing therapy-informed approaches, supporting coping skills, and maintaining a supportive, goal-oriented environment for adolescent girls in care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to complete background checks and drug screening.
• Must meet program age requirements.
• Active participation in required training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youth during daily routines and activities.
• Maintain a safe, structured environment supportive of treatment goals.
• Encourage positive behavior and healthy coping skills.
• Reinforce clinical guidance from the team.
• Monitor youth behavior and report safety concerns.
• Use de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Complete required documentation and incident reports.
• Collaborate with clinical, educational, and program staff.
• Participate in staff training and development.
