Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Seattle, WA is seeking a Group Life Counselor I for swing/breaker shift (evenings and weekends) in a residential program. You will work with high-risk youths and families under supervision, supporting treatment plans and group activities.

The role requires a good character, strong organizational and communication skills, and adherence to safety and licensing requirements. Training, supervision, and a collaborative team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be of good character and able to meet the needs of adolescent and adult populations served.
• Must have good organizational and communication skills.
• This role requires understanding that chemical dependency is a treatable illness and a public health issue.
• Must complete an annual clinical competency test.
• Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate boundaries in all interactions.
• No history of alcohol or other drug misuse for at least two years prior to employment at the facility.
• No felony conviction in the last seven years or substantiated child abuse.
• Must maintain driving standards as outlined in policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional standards and follow agency treatment policies and regulations.
• Support treatment planning and assist in patient care as part of the treatment team.
• Attend groups with clients and monitor activities including housework and quiet time.
• Document daily progress notes and maintain accurate records for courts and referrals.
• Provide care and supervision in a residential setting according to age-appropriate needs.
