Job summary

Lakeshore Recycling Systems in Indianapolis is seeking a Residential Driver to safely operate a collection truck and serve customers on assigned routes. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections and ensure proper collection of waste and recyclables.

Responsibilities include communicating with dispatch, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety, and following DOT regulations while delivering courteous service. Local travel only with no overnight requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks and related equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret route sheets and maps.
• Basic familiarity with mobile devices such as tablets or route tracking apps.
• Ability to enter service notes and complete route information electronically.
• Comfort using handheld scanners, GPS applications, and other digital tools as required by operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential collection truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Collect waste and recyclables from residential customers on assigned routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Communicate with dispatch and route supervisors regarding issues or delays.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle.
• Follow all safety guidelines and DOT regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns when necessary.
