Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Columbus, OH is seeking a Residential Helper to join our front-line waste collection team. This role is physically demanding and requires safe lifting, customer service, and reliable attendance to support drivers and routes.

You will assist with removing waste and recyclables, loading materials, and interacting professionally with customers while following safety guidelines. Overtime and night/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience or familiarity with basic truck mechanics is helpful.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers and drivers.
• Clear ability to read safety instructions and follow directions in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide waste or recycling removal on assigned route(s) by safely loading up to 75 lbs from the ground.
• Enter and exit the truck and assist with servicing 600–1000 stops daily.
• Replace trash/recycling receptacles at curb or designated area and interact with customers.
• Assist Driver with backing up and loading the truck; perform other duties as assigned.
