Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Kentucky is seeking a Residential Helper to assist drivers in providing safe, courteous waste and recycling removal on assigned routes. This role involves lifting up to 75 lbs repeatedly and working outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.

The position is physically demanding and requires good communication with customers, dependability, and willingness to work nights and weekends. Rumpke offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Candidates should be able to learn and understand truck mechanics.
Excellent verbal and written communication with customers.
Ability to communicate in English.
Waste industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide waste or recycling removal services to customers on assigned route(s) by emptying trash/recycling receptacles into truck.
Enter and exit the truck and service 600-1000 stops per day.
Replace trash/recycling receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area.
Clean up waste spills and overflows.
Work with multiple drivers depending on workloads.
Operate packing mechanism and lifting/loading mechanism on the truck.
Assist Driver in safely backing up the truck from outside the vehicle.
Assist in unloading or cleaning truck as needed.
Professionally interact with internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
