Job summary

Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) is hiring a Residential Driver in Monmouth, IL. You will operate a heavy-duty residential collection truck, service routes, and ensure safe vehicle operation per DOT rules.

A CDL Class B with air brake endorsement is required, with at least 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred. Respondents must maintain route accuracy, use handheld scanners or GPS tools, and communicate with dispatch.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks and related equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret route sheets and maps.
• Basic familiarity with tablets or route-tracking apps.
• Ability to enter service notes and complete route information electronically.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential collection truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Collect waste and recyclables from residential customers on assigned routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Communicate with dispatch and route supervisors regarding issues or delays.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle.
• Follow all safety guidelines and DOT regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns when necessary.
