Job summary

Lakeshore Recycling Systems in Indianapolis is seeking a Residential Driver to safely operate a collection truck, serve customers on assigned routes, and ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables according to company policies.

The role reports to the Operations Supervisor and requires knowledge of DOT regulations, CDL Class B with air brake endorsement, and strong customer service skills. Local travel and long driving hours are possible.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks and related equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret route sheets and maps.
• Basic familiarity with mobile devices such as tablets or route tracking apps.
• Ability to enter service notes and complete route information electronically.
• Comfort using handheld scanners, GPS applications, and other digital tools as required by operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential collection truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Collect waste and recyclables from residential customers on assigned routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Communicate with dispatch and route supervisors regarding issues or delays.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle.
• Follow all safety guidelines and DOT regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns when necessary.
