Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a Driver Helper to ride along on a residential route and assist the Driver with waste removal. You will help load bags and containers, direct the Driver from the ground, and keep the vehicle and route area clean and orderly.

The role emphasizes safe operation, courteous customer service, and adherence to company policies. You will contribute to efficient route service and daily safety standards on the job.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
• Operate packing mechanism and loading levers to activate loading.
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body after each disposal trip.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle and report safety issues.
• Interact courteously with customers and dispatchers to ensure timely service.
• Keep the work area and vehicle clean and maintained.
