Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Helper to ride along with the Driver and assist in delivering prompt, courteous waste removal services on a residential route. You will help load waste, guide the driver from the ground, and keep the vehicle and work areas clean and safe.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
• Operate packing mechanism and levers to activate the loading mechanism.
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip.
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure timely service.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
• Clean areas around spills and adhere to safety standards and policies.
• Maintain productivity standards to service all customers efficiently.
• Follow all required safety policies and perform other duties as assigned.
