The Residential Therapist provides clinical services to residents at Anthony’s Villa group home, focusing on counseling, case management, and treatment planning. The Residential Therapist is responsible for fostering a therapeutic environment, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards, and promoting positive outcomes for clients.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Residential Therapist provides clinical services to residents at Anthony’s Villa group home, focusing on counseling, case management, and treatment planning. The Residential Therapist is responsible for fostering a therapeutic environment, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards, and promoting positive outcomes for clients.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Services- Provide at least weekly individual counseling sessions for each client.
- Facilitate daily group therapy sessions (30 minutes each, Monday–Friday).
- Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans for clients in collaboration with the team.
- Coordinate and deliver training to staff on evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques tailored to the needs of residents.
- Serve as a member of the admissions team, participating in client intake and onboarding processes.
- Remain on-call for crisis de-escalation or immediate client support as needed.
Case Management- Conduct and maintain regular contact with caseworkers, guardians, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all client forms, including intakes, diagnostic assessments (DAs), and treatment plans.
- Manage school placements and collaborate with educational providers to support clients' academic success.
- Facilitate RTIS discharge planning and review every 30 days.
- Complete QRTP-compliant Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessments every 90 days.
Documentation and Compliance- Develop treatment plans/ISPs every 90 days in collaboration with case managers, probation officers, GAL/CASA, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct monthly reviews of incident reports with the team to identify trends and implement quality improvement measures.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements, including QRTP standards and CARF accreditation.
Quality Improvement and Reporting- Analyze incident trends to reduce the use of physical holds and enhance behavioral management strategies.
- Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to guardians and other stakeholders.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to elevate clinical practices and client outcomes.
Program Support- Input respite clients into the RTIS system for tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and execute therapeutic programming and activities.
- Actively contribute to program development and improvement efforts as part of the residential care team.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Education and Licensure- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Counseling.
- Licensure: Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); advanced licensure preferred.
- Preferred: EMDR Certification (required within first 90 days)
Experience- Previous experience in residential or outpatient behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and behavioral health interventions.
- Familiarity with QRTP standards, CANS assessments, and RTIS systems.
Skills and Knowledge- Ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with children and adolescents in care.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing treatment plans and behavioral interventions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Competence in delivering team clinical training sessions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment- Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, standing, and walking; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Work Environment: Primarily in a group home setting, with occasional travel to attend meetings or accompany clients to appointments.
