Job description

North Carolina Licensed | Telehealth | Contractor Position| Part-Time | REMOTE

About MindGlow Health

MindGlow Health delivers high-quality, online behavioral healthcare, including virtual therapy and psychiatric care, through our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Our company was born out of FHE Health, a nationally recognized behavioral health provider with nearly two decades of experience serving first responders through its renowned Shatterproof program. Building on that legacy, MindGlow Health's First Responder Program brings that same trusted expertise to a virtual setting, ensuring continuity of care for first responders as they transition from inpatient to outpatient services.

As a preferred aftercare provider for FHE Health, we work closely with their discharge team to support first responders in their recovery journey. Our therapists are trained in trauma-informed care and culturally competent treatment, helping clients navigate the emotional toll of their work, manage trauma, and improve long-term wellness-on and off the job.

About the Role

We're seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist licensed in North Carolina to join our First Responder Program. This is a part-time, fully remote, contract position where you'll be able to maintain a flexible schedule and set the hours that work for you. Ideal candidates will bring a background in trauma therapy, crisis intervention, and experience supporting first responders, including police, firefighters, EMS, corrections, and veterans. You'll focus entirely on delivering high-quality virtual care to those who face the unique psychological demands of life on the front lines.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll provide virtual therapy to first responders across North Carolina, addressing the complex challenges they face-from acute trauma and PTSD to burnout and emotional fatigue. You'll conduct therapy sessions tailored to the first responder experience, build individualized treatment plans, and utilize evidence-based approaches to support your clients' wellbeing.

You'll help clients navigate the aftermath of critical incidents, educate them on strategies for emotional regulation and sleep hygiene, and support them in setting healthy boundaries between work and personal life. Through trust, empathy, and clinical expertise, you'll play a vital role in helping clients build resilience and regain control over their mental health.

You'll also maintain accurate documentation, collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, and contribute to a workplace rooted in compassion, collaboration, and excellence.

What You'll Have

  • An active, independent clinical license in the state of North Carolina, such as LCMHC, LMFT, LCSW.
  • A minimum of three years of experience providing therapy to first responders, trauma survivors, or individuals in high-stress or emergency response professions.
  • A willingness to complete the MindGlow Heroes First Responder Clinician Training to deepen your understanding of first responder mental health needs.
  • An active NPI number; enrollment in Medicare is preferred.
  • Eligibility to participate in federally funded healthcare programs, as required by the Office of Inspector General (OIG).
  • Proficiency in telehealth technology and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • A private, HIPAA-compliant space in your home or office for virtual therapy sessions.
  • Reliable, high-speed internet and proficiency using teleconferencing platforms such as Zoom.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, attention to detail, and skill in writing clinical documentation in patient-friendly language.
  • A commitment to upholding MindGlow Health's core values: Lead Bravely, Inspire with Hope, Act with Integrity, Live Compassionately, Seek First to Understand, and Value Every Voice.

Benefits

  • 100% remote telehealth position.
  • Paid orientation, training and administrative hours
  • Comprehensive support including billing, credentialing, referrals, and administrative services so you can focus on providing care.
  • Schedule autonomy - design the schedule that works best for you!
  • Paid malpractice insurance, including tail coverage.
  • Continuing education opportunities with CEUs provided.
  • Biweekly payments - you'll still get paid if a client no-shows, cancels at the last minute or if an insurance claim is denied.
  • We take on the overhead and marketing to help you do what you do best and grow your practice.
