Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, MO is seeking a Residential Specialist to provide supervision, teach daily living skills, and support residents in a behavioral health housing setting. You will work with a treatment team, implement plans, monitor safety, and assist with medications while maintaining accurate documentation.

You will participate in meetings, promote recovery, and help residents achieve greater independence through structured, compassionate care and skill-building

Qualifications

• Effective communication and strong documentation skills are essential.
• Experience in Human Services or related field is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required; Medication Administration training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive supervision and guidance to residents and promote independence.
• Teach daily living skills such as meal prep, housekeeping, hygiene, laundry, and activity planning.
• Facilitate resident groups and encourage growth and positive behavioral change.
• Follow treatment plans and provide therapeutic support in daily interactions.
• Monitor safety and security of residents and environment during each shift.
• Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution while maintaining a structured living setting.
• Document progress notes, logs, and required documentation accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and treatment team on residents’ medical and behavioral needs.
• Attend meetings with residential staff and treatment teams as assigned.
