Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Oversee direct service staff in a residential setting and ensure safety and well-being of children.
  • Develop staff schedules to ensure coverage and supervision at all times.
  • Lead staff meetings and provide coaching, feedback, and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with case management, therapy, and education departments for holistic care.
  • Enforce agency policies and serve as a contact for staff during shifts.
  • Assist in recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff; maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
  • Work with residential director to address systemic issues and improve operations.
  • Develop procedures to promote accurate information flow and teamwork.

We are looking for a full-time Residential Supervisor who is at least 21 years of age and has a high school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience in a Residential Program. Also requires attendance and successful completion of Safe Crisis Management training, that is provided by the Agency. In addition, it is required to attend the Residential Child and Youth Care Professional Certification Training. Employees must complete the online certification process to become Nationally Certified within the first year of employment. Lastly, you must possess a valid driver's license and meet agency underwriting standards while driving agency vehicles and/or transporting clients.

A Day in The Life as a Residential Supervisor

As a Residential Supervisor, you will assist with meeting our mission of strengthening families by supporting youth with challenging behaviors in a therapeutic environment. Through your day-to-day interactions, you will promote health, safety, and well-being of individuals served, as well as the organization by leading therapeutic groups, teaching daily routines, and promoting positive and proactive behavior management strategies. You will be an advocate for the youth as they communicate their wants, needs, and goals as they work to achieve their highest quality of life. Additional tasks include:

  • Provides direct supervision of direct service program staff assigned to the facility and provides administrative expertise as required. The Supervisor will promote Trauma Informed Care treatment modalities incorporated within the program, supervisory, and management activities.
  • Oversee and supervise a team of staff members working with children in a residential setting.
  • Provide guidance, support, and leadership to staff to ensure the safety and well-being of the children under their care.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and supervision at all times.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and provide training opportunities
  • Monitor staff performance and provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as case management, therapy, and education to ensure comprehensive care for the children served.
  • Enforce and ensure adherence to all agency policies and procedures by staff members.
  • Serve as a point of contact for staff members regarding any concerns or emergencies that may arise during shifts.
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff members. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of staff interactions, incidents, and progress reports.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies and support.
  • Collaborate with the residential director and other supervisors to address any systemic issues and improve the overall functioning of the residential program.
  • Develops and implements procedures and controls to promote accurate and timely information flow.
  • Refrains from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
  • Advocates, promotes, and practices cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all day-to-day interactions.
  • Develops, promotes, and practices teamwork in all activities.
  • Follows all accreditation standards as well as state standards of oversight for the PRTF
