Job summary

Sunrun is seeking a Certified Hybrid Field Technician to support site assessments before installation and inspections after installation for residential solar projects. The role involves working across various job sites, collecting data, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and local codes.

The ideal candidate will hold a Journeyman electrical certification (or higher), have PV design/installation experience, and be comfortable working on rooftops with ladders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a valid state-recognized Electrical Certification at Journeyman level or higher.
• PV design/installation experience with basic knowledge of blueprints is helpful.
• Comfortable on roofs and using ladders or working in tight spaces.
• Familiar with basic hand tools, measuring devices and mobile technology.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Must be 21+ with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer homes to collect measurements and data for solar design.
• Assess roof conditions and electrical service panels per standard protocols.
• Climb ladders and perform attic inspections as required.
• Submit survey data using mobile field tools and ensure accuracy.
• Conduct post-install inspections to verify readiness for AHJ/utility approvals.
• Ensure installed systems match plans and meet safety and code standards.
• Collaborate with install teams to resolve inspection issues.
• Provide documentation (photos, checklists) for inspection readiness.
• Discuss system installations with AHJ and customers.
• Schedule inspections and coordinate with customers and AHJ.
• Maintain tools and safety equipment in good working condition.
• Represent Sunrun professionally in all customer-facing interactions.
