Job summary

Sunrun Inc. is hiring a Hybrid Field Technician to support the residential solar installation pipeline by performing site assessments before installation, inspections after, and other lone worker duties as needed. This role ensures accurate data and a successful final inspection across diverse sites.

You’ll follow intraday schedules, handle hands-on work, and interact with customers. Comfort with roofs and ladders is required; OSHA 10/30 and a valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PV design, PV installation or PV electrical experience helpful (1 year field construction preferred).
• Comfortable on roofs, ladders, and confined spaces.
• Familiar with basic hand tools, measuring devices, and mobile technology.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer homes to collect detailed measurements, photos, and data for solar design.
• Assess roof conditions, electrical service panels, and property features.
• Climb ladders, walk rooftops, and conduct attic inspections.
• Submit survey data timely using mobile field tools.
• Perform post-install inspection to ensure readiness for AHJ/utility approval.
• Confirm installed systems match plans and meet code and safety standards.
• Collaborate with install teams to resolve inspection issues.
• Provide documentation (photos, checklist, notes) for inspection readiness.
• Discuss system installations with AHJ and customers.
• Schedule inspections with AHJ and customers.
