Job summary

Life’s WORC is seeking a dedicated supervisor to provide protective oversight for residents and lead a team of residential staff in a supportive setting across NY locations. The role requires driving, AMAP certification, and strong communication to coordinate daily living activities and community integration.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent required; BA in Human Service preferred.
• Two years’ experience with people with developmental disabilities.
• One year’s supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid NY State or out-of-state Driver’s License required.
• Must pass a pre-employment road test and drive agency vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing protective oversight to people living in the residence.
• 24/7 On-Call Accessibility.
• Responsible for scheduling, training of residential staff, supervising, personnel related issues and other tasks.
• Provide assistance and instruction for each person in basic activities of daily living.
• Participate in the selection and evaluation of staff.
• Complete staff performance evaluations.
• Participate at IDT or Life Plan meetings and OPWDD surveys.
• Successfully complete the AMAP course and annual recertification.
• Ability to lift: general lifting is required (eg. laundry, groceries).
• Drive agency vehicles; demonstrate safe driving practices; participate in agency driver safety course.
• Responsible for NYS Vehicle Inspection and all routine maintenance of agency vehicles.
• Conduct road tests with prospective and current employees on agency’s vehicle.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment including weekly walk-throughs.
• Ensure adherence to agency quality standards; decisions with Director of Residential Services drive operations.
• Become skilled with agency software (Medisked, Outlook, Ultipro).
• Assist people supported in planning, coordinating and attending community integration activities.
