Job summary

The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services seeks a Residence Manager to oversee maintenance of residential apartments and resident safety. The role requires coordinating with program staff and the maintenance department to ensure timely repairs and safe living environments.

You will document work in systems like MyAvatar, prepare reports, manage budgets, and support tenants during crises while maintaining regulatory standards and collaboration with facilities teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services preferred or HS diploma with 3 years’ experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
• Prior experience with adults diagnosed with mental illness, homelessness or substance abuse history.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain residential apartments and resident safety.
• Document work in MyAvatar and other systems.
• Prepare and track reports on maintenance and repairs.
• Liaise between program staff and maintenance for timely repairs.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance of the physical plant.
• Participate in meetings and budget management.
• Prepare apartments for tenancy and inspect units.
• Travel weekly to apartments across the five boroughs.
• Other duties as assigned.
