Job summary

Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas is seeking a Security Manager in Baltimore, MD. This leadership role oversees perimeter, alarm, cameras, keys, and contraband control, ensuring 24/7 security coverage and adherence to funding source requirements.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in security management or related field and have at least five years of transferable security or management experience, with strong English communication and decision-making abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in security management or a related major.
• A minimum of five years of transferable experience, preferably in management within human services or security.
• Ability to make independent decisions using good judgement and solve complex problems.
• Strong written and verbal English communication with team members and law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Manage and train security personnel to ensure VOACC policy compliance.
• Oversee facility safety and security in accordance with ACA, PREA, OSHA standards.
• Supervise security schedule and 24/7 operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of security and safety on each shift.
• Develop emergency response training and risk management plans.
• Prepare and present security improvement plans to senior management.
• Maintain security records and coordinate urine surveillance and related audits.
