Job summary

Volunteers of America in New Orleans is seeking a Family Recovery Support worker to monitor a residential center and provide structure for residents in early recovery. You will ensure sign-in/sign-out, searches, and passes for resident movement, while supporting staff and partners in implementing recovery programming.

This role involves coordinating with the Recovery House Manager, handling communications, and performing light duties such as laundry and cleaning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred lived experience with substance use disorder recovery.
• Experience working with women in recovery preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass criminal history and TB screening per agency policy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the residential center to ensure safety and well-being of residents, staff and visitors.
• Assist in program design and implementation across recovery services.
• Ensure sign-in/sign-out compliance and search procedures.
• Facilitate resident access to phones, mail, and visits with approved passes.
• Record messages accurately and communicate with staff as needed.
• Assist with laundry, cleaning and organizing tasks.
• Transport residents if approved and trained to drive.
