Job summary

Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach in New Orleans to provide aftercare peer support, community-based services, and alumni programming. You will collaborate with Crescent Care and SUMR partners to extend recovery services and outreach.

The role requires lived recovery experience, a valid Peer Support Specialist credential, and strong group facilitation and documentation skills. This position supports the residential center launch and ongoing program scaling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience with a substance use disorder with 12+ months recovery (24-36 preferred).
• Registered Peer Support Specialist credential required (can be obtained after hire).
• Experience working with women with substance use disorders (preferred).
• Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide aftercare peer support and group services to graduates and residents.
• Coordinate with Crescent Care and partners for SUMR outreach events.
• Facilitate weekly peer support groups for ASAM 3.1 residents.
• Facilitate Lagniappe peer support group for alumni.
• Maintain documentation and recordkeeping per contract requirements.
