Waxahachie Discovery Point Retreat seeks a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician / Recovery Coach to support clients through treatment and recovery. You will work with clinical, medical, and operations teams to create a safe, structured environment and motivate clients to actively engage in their recovery.

You will build relationships, monitor rounds, document observations, and coordinate with staff while maintaining professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment or related field preferred.
• Recovery Coach, Peer Support, Behavioral Health Technician, CNA, or similar experience a plus.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work with individuals experiencing substance use and behavioral health challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and emotionally mature.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients.
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document information.
• Multidisciplinary treatment team involvement.
• Must pass required background and employment screening.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct support, encouragement, and accountability to clients during treatment.
• Build positive, professional relationships with clients while maintaining boundaries.
• Monitor client activity and support daily schedule.
• Assist with following facility schedule including groups, meals, activities, appointments.
• Complete regular client rounds and monitor safety.
• Observe and report changes in client behavior to staff.
• Assist with admissions, room assignments, orientation, and discharge.
• Encourage client participation in groups and programs.
• Help create a safe, respectful, recovery-focused environment.
• Assist with daily living needs and provide emotional support.
• Document client interactions accurately and timely.
• Communicate with nurses, therapists, leadership, and staff.
• Follow all policies, safety requirements, and confidentiality standards.
• Respond to behavioral or safety concerns and report issues.
