Job summary

Brookfield Properties in Oakland, CA seeks a Property Manager to supervise daily operations, oversee leasing, maintenance, budgeting, and staff performance. You will coordinate with the Corporate Office, manage expenditures, and ensure service quality across the property.

Responsibilities include resident screening, rent collection, move-ins/outs, inspections, and implementing marketing plans to maximize occupancy while maintaining housing standards.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma/GED.
• Undergraduate or Associate degree in General Studies.
• 3–4 years of supervisory and property management experience.
• Preferred ARM, CPM, CAM, or IREM certifications.
• Skills: fair housing laws, Microsoft Office, leadership.
• Preferred: Yardi, landlord/tenant knowledge, LRO.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of an apartment community including leasing, occupancy, maintenance, and staff management.
• Coordinate communications between on-site staff and Corporate Office; perform performance evaluations.
• Utilize property management software; manage budgets, purchases, and vendor contracts; prepare variances and reports.
• Maintain housing quality standards; coordinate with Engineering on maintenance issues.
• Develop and implement a marketing plan to maximize occupancy and comply with affirmative marketing.
• Screen prospective residents, quote rents, process applications, deposits and move-ins/outs; collect payments.
• Conduct move-in/move-out inspections; assess damages and charges; maintain on-site records.
