Job summary

Bernstein Management Corporation (BMC) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support 3 residential properties in NW DC, Kew Gardens, West End and August, totaling about 290 units. Responsibilities include plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC maintenance and general upkeep.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect equipment, and respond to resident requests with on-call duties on a rotating basis. A strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; 2–4 years maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems to keep assets in good condition.
• Inspect, operate, or test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Repair or replace defective electrical, plumbing, or mechanical components.
• Maintain building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, and drains.
• Perform HVAC maintenance and boiler-related tasks.
• Handle resident service requests in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and inspect subcontractors work as needed.
• Maintain tidy shops and storage areas.
