Bernstein Management Corporation (BMC) seeks a motivated Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance on a residential property in NW DC. Responsibilities include plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC tasks, with preventative maintenance and on-call coverage.

The role requires a High School Diploma and 2–4 years of experience. Candidates should be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple properties.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools and precision instruments for diagnostics and repair.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems.
• Inspect and diagnose machinery to identify malfunctions.
• Install and repair electrical, plumbing, and HVAC components.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts with hand and power tools.
• Maintain and repair building fixtures and structures (lights, doors, windows, etc.).
• Operate HVAC systems and support equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate subcontractors and inspect their work.
• Maintain organized shops and storage areas.
• Handle resident service requests within prescribed timelines.
• Support the Preventive Maintenance Program.
